FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS....

What is a "Virtual Tour"

A virtual tour is a collection of panoramic images giving a full 360 degree view of a place or room, by adding links to each of the panoramas you create a "virtual tour" giving the sense of being there.

How does a virtual tour differ from still images.

The main difference to the viewer is the fact that the virtual tour presents a full realistic view of the location, without the photographers perspective or camera techniques to show a different view.

How are virtual tours effecting the marketing of products and locations.

The society today is fast becoming a business of instant decisions, the ability to view a location or travel hotel/villa gives an instant real view and understanding thus enabling the viewer to make the quick decision they are looking for.

What is the value of a virtual tour.

Virtual tours are fast becoming one of the best marketing tools in the travel and tourism industry, statistically web sites without virtual tours have an average viewing time of 6 mins, sites with virtual tours average 25 mins.

The Radisson hotel group show that every hotel with virtual tours has increased its online bookings by over $10,000 each month, and are receiving an increase in web hits by over 200%.

Who is IPIX and how do they differ from VR360 tours.

IPIX is a large company that produces virtual tour images by using full circle fisheye images. they use 2 images stitched together to form a photo bubble. as they have a patent for the technology they charge a license fee for every image produced.

The down side to this is the cost of the license reduces the cost effectiveness of tour production and reduces the number of images they can produce while staying cost effective.

One other drawback to the IPIX system is the fact that by using full circle fisheye images you cannot use flash systems in dark rooms, therefore you have to reduce the photography shoot time to capture the light in the room, which causes any light source such as windows and lights to blow out in the photograph. all in all this reduces the quality of the image and presents a poor tour solution.

VR360 produces high quality images using multiple shots an average of 8 per panorama this enables us to use professional flash systems. which give the very best in final images.

We do not have any cost for producing panorama images therefore we can produce the full number of panoramas to fully capture the tour location. all in all this represents a much better value for money.

What is the value of CD rom presentation disks.

The use of presenting the virtual tour on a CD rom presentation disk has proven to be a very powerful marketing tool. when you present a flyer it is typically seen by 2 people then thrown away or placed in a drawer, CD rom disk present an inherent value and are kept indefinitely, each disk is typically seen by 20 people and can be reproduced therefore increasing the number of viewers.

When these are given to villa and hotel guest, they are used as a souvenir and are shown a great number of times. CD rom presentations generate bookings and reservations long after they are given to the guest, and for villa owners generate 2 to 3 extra bookings each year from the disk alone.

Why is VR360 the best choice in virtual tour production.

At VR360 we have incorporated all aspects of the virtual tour production in house, we produce our own CD Rom disk and web design, we own our own web servers, we print all our own stationary, all of which helps reduce our cost which is passed on to our clients.

We only use the very best camera and computer systems which typically are valued at over $10,000 per unit. we have an extensive training program for our photographers and franchise owners. Best of all we present the very best complete package while being comparable in price to all of our competitors.
